While doing business research recently, I came across a number of websites that were tremendously cluttered. It got me thinking about the correlation between a cluttered web site, and an organization where everything is a priority… which means nothing is a priority. If an organization doesn’t have the discipline to declutter their web site, I think it’s a pretty good indication that their may be decision making issues. Having the discipline to focus and prioritize means having leaders that are willing to say no to things. If Paretos’ Principle holds true, what is it that you fear in focusing on the 20 percent that will produce 80 percent of the results?
Results come from focus. Focus means practicing self-discipline. And self-discipline means saying no to things. Look at your web site. Is it telling you something?
