I wasn’t so sure about driving across the country and back in one day – 7 total hours driving on the wrong side of the road, but boy am I glad I did!
I climbed Croagh Patrick (The Reek), and it was as tough as any mountain in Colorado. Actually, steeper with a more rugged, less improved trail. The only advantage was it started at sea level, and it was only about 5 miles round trip! The great thing about a mountain climb is it gives you time to think, and it makes you push through the pain while thinking about the “lesser” obstacles in one’s life.
I was then able to spend the afternoon with my cousins in Moorehall, County Mayo. They’re an absolutely wonderful family, and though I haven’t know them my whole life it feels like I have – and makes me feel close toe my grandma.
The students blogs have been great, and I think Alex’ wins the day!
