The house for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade once again did not disappoint the students. From the marbled halls, mahogany doors, and ornate ceilings, the students were in awe of the grandeur of Iveagh House.
We also had the privilege of having four career diplomats brief the students on the history of Ireland in the context of policy and economics. One of the diplomats will soon be the Consult General in San Francisco representing the West coast. It takes real leadership to sell austerity in the context of fiscal discipline, with an eye on long-term benefits. Bravo to those with the foresight to endure for the prosperity all are now enjoying.
