I started out with Circle of Control, Circle of Influence and last… Circle of Concern.
The only two things you control regarding SELF is where you spend your time and how you respond to your environment.
The only thing you control in an ORGANIZATION is the leadership levers of Structure, Process and Incentives.
We never “control” OTHERS – though we can Influence, and that is best done when remembering, “People Support What They Help Create.”
Lastly, Circle of Concern is where we probably spend too much time, and that is a lot of external things (and internal drama).
When looking at problems and issues, it’s important to step back and ask, “Is this worth my time? Is this essential? Is this something I can control or influence? Will I take ownership? Do I have the stamina to see this through?
