Individual Accountability Expectations

I met with my 12 graduate students from the University of Colorado Denver this evening, and emphasized that learning and growth is ultimately their responsibility. I also asked them to be vocal about whether the course is meeting their needs when it comes to Leadership & Entrepreneurship in Ireland.

What I expect from each student is pretty simple, and I emphasized this throughout the orientations:

  1. A great ATTITUDE.  Don’t condemn, criticize or complain.
  2. Be a TEAM PLAYER.  We before Me. Take care of each other during this adventure.
  3. PUNCTUALITY is a sign of respect – for each other, our hosts, and ourselves.
  4. CURIOSITY is what truly separates the gifted student from the mediocre student. It’s also the hallmark of every effective leader.
